Ellen co-founded V&V in 1997, a month after
co-founding the nonprofit company JEMGLO
to produce documentaries for film festivals
internationally and PBS and cable stations in the
US. V&V was established to extend those filmmaking
and storytelling skills to corporate and government
clients in need of a spectrum of business videos.
Ellen’s comfort in the corporate world is rooted in
her background as an attorney. She worked at the
Proskauer law firm in NYC as part of the Southern
District Litigation Program; served as a law clerk
to the Hon. Irving Ben Cooper, US District Judge for the Southern District of NY; and was a consultant to the NJ Bioethics Commission. Ellen migrated her career track to journalism, founding the post of Political Correspondent for a NJ weekly, which led to her interest in telling stories through film. In 2008 she was selected as a finalist in the M3 “Make Mine a Million” small business owners competition, and in 2009 she was chosen as one of five participants nationwide in the American Express OPEN Out-of-the-Box Program. Ellen was named one of the Best Fifty Women in Business in New Jersey in 2014.
